How we check prices

Actualizado el 2026-10-24

Most "deals" are a list price with a line through it. We do not trust the line. Every product we list gets its price recorded once a day, by us, and every offer is judged against that record — not against the store's "was" price.

The numbers, live

Updated every 6 hours. The verdict on each offer page — Real deal, Fair price or Not a deal — uses exactly this rule.

1. We record the price ourselves

Once a day we store the price of every product we have listed, per store. After 7 days of records an offer can be called the "lowest in N days"; after 30 days, an "all-time low". Before that, the page says it is too early to call.

2. We check the price at the store

Where the store offers an official channel, a robot asks the store itself for the current price every 3 hours: the eBay and Walmart APIs, and the public product data of Shopify stores. If the price went up or the item sold out, the offer ends on its own. Elsewhere we check that the product page is still alive.

3. A safety check before anything goes out

Before an offer appears in our emails, alerts or social posts it must pass a set of checks: the price in the headline must match the price we read, a "90% off" claim needs our history to back it, a price far below what the product usually costs is held for a human look, and headlines bundling several products with one price ("$50 & More") are not listed unless we can confirm the exact product.

4. What we do not do

No store pays for a place on this site or for a better verdict. We do not scrape sites that block robots, and we never change a price to make an offer look better. When we cannot verify something, we say so on the page.
